Progress?

(AZ/NV/UT/ID, OR, WA) We are closer to Washington but I'm really not sure you would call this progress. When we left Arizona it was 79 degrees. Here in Utah it is 45 daytime, 30 nighttime with super strong wind. And it's supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow.

Here's the view from our rest stop today in Utah.

Today when we stopped for a lunch break, Mike took the two little ones out. When he got back he told me not to go out...that I wouldn't be able to stand up. The wind was blowing so hard it actually blew Mike over. Truly.

Then today I notice that the studded tire deadline is being delayed in WA due to continued bad weather. Hmm, this doesn't sound good.

This cold rainy weather doesn't seem bad to all you in WA...but you're not living in an RV (with drafts and leaks) with five dogs.

Spent one day driving through Idaho making it from Brigham City, UT to Huntington, OR. Huntington is just into the very north east corner of Oregon right on the Snake River. It was a very pretty place.

The second we pulled in I noticed the only grassy area in the place and asked Mike to lay a track for Boogie. There wasn’t much space so the track only ended up being 25 yards or so. Supposedly it is much harder to track next to a body of water. But let me tell you Boogie did great. Even though while we were waiting for the track to age just a few minutes, a loose lab came along and ate most of the hot dogs and moved the glove a few feet to the left. We tracked from the left of the closest picnic table to the left of the far picnic table.

But Boogie was focused. He stopped once to look at the geese on the river but after 5-10 seconds he came right back to the track and dashed to the glove. Great job!

Here is a look at the view we had from the RV.

I even managed to capture a couple of the geese in flight that Boogie had been looking at earlier.

We had planned to go north from here up to Washington and over I-90 but a huge snow storm was forecasted for Friday so we had to change our plans and go up the gorge. So Thursday night we ended up at Ainsworth State Park….because we couldn’t find an RV park near Portland or Vancouver that would take five dogs. I suggested we just go back to Arizona but I was out-voted 4-3. The three skinny girls voted to go back south. But the boys all wanted to go north. The deciding vote was then left up to Wazzu...can you believe she went against me! So north we went.

Friday afternoon we arrived at Argus Ranch in Auburn, WA. Everyone was so excited to be "home". We lived at Argus for quite a few months a few years ago and the dogs certainly remember. Slugger immediately went over to this old barn area to search for feral cats.

Since it was Easter weekend we had an Easter egg hunt in a huge field for the dogs. The dogs raced around hunting for eggs and eating them. Except for 2iggie. She had no clue what was going on so she just ran around frantically. It was raining so I didn't get any pictures but believe me they had a great time!
