Columbia Cup

(Ridgefield, WA) Over the weekend we went to the Clark County Fairgrounds in the Vancouver area....for an agility trial of course!

This trial is called the Columbia Cup. All dogs that go four for four in the Regular runs are in the running for one of these cups based on their yards per second.

Our dogs have done very well in the past at this trial. This year we came "oh so close". Each dog went three for four. Interestingly enough, all three dogs missed the very last contact (by a toenail) on the exact some run.

Had they gotten the contact, I think both Sparkie and Boogie had a super shot at being the winners in their height classes as they were both running so fast this weekend.

Mike made the comment he sure wishes they were going to Champs this year as they are both really peaking right now. It really sucks to be the reason they aren't going.

While it was pouring down rain up at "home" today, it was beautiful and in the mid-70's here.

When I got up Sunday morning, it was so pretty, I had to go outside and take some pictures. Each picture is taken just in front of our RV.

There are many barns here that you can walk around and between. Really a very beautiful place when it's nice out.

Sitting in the window (especially when it is sunny out) is a very popular activity in our RV.

It's not just a favorite activity for our guys. Don't these two look so sweet and peaceful.

This is taken AFTER the dog sitting in the above picture tore their window shade into smitherines. We tried to tell it to stop (owner's were away) but the little guy paid absolutely no attention to us!

All four dogs ran truly great this weekend. Boogie ran as fast as he's ever run. It was so cool to see his confidence return.

This was 2iggie's first full trial. We thought she'd be mentally tired half way through the first day. But not so at all. She was just as ready to go at the end of the day as she was first thing in the morning. She too is gaining confidence and ran much faster than she has in her previous trials.

Take a look at these happy dogs. What great form...and a big smile too.

The top bar didn't have any tape so it almost looks like Sparkie is airborne over nothing.

At this rate, Boogie is never going to knock a bar. Cute, but not really the most efficient jump style.

Very nice form!

Jumping seems to be fun.
