That's a Lot of Logs

(Olympia, WA) Boogie was awake today! Even with pain meds I could tell his foot was hurting as he was three legged all day. He sure can go fast on three legs.

But in actuality he didn't want to be up too much. And while we always vowed he would be treated like a big dog and wouldn't be carried around, we had to make an exception since he had surgery. Even Slugger got carried for a while each of his surgeries.

This afternoon there was quite a bit going on in the waters outside my parents house. As you might have noticed in some previous pictures, there has been a log boom in the water for a couple weeks.

Today there was a large barge full of logs that had been led there by a tug boat.

There was a crane on board that was taking bunches of logs and putting them in the water.

Then a little tug would push them over to the log boom...

...where a guy standing on the boom would do something - I couldn't really tell what.

But it was very interesting to watch. A few hours later they were getting close to done.

After a nice day spent with my parents (and a great dinner) it was time to say goodbye for quite some time as from here we take off on our next nine month adventure. We're sure going to miss spending time with them.

Off we go.
