Downtown

Mike took the dogs on a hike this morning to try to wear them out so that we could take a little outing on our own. We don’t do this very often but this campground seems like a very safe place to leave the dogs for a couple hours.

So the two of us drove to Sedona and had a late lunch at one of our favorite sandwich shops that only has a few locations - all in Arizona. As always, the sandwiches were great! We sat out on the balcony and looked at the beautiful red rocks. This was the view from our table.

While I was waiting for the food to arrive I walked around some of the little shops and came across a photo gallery. If we had walls we definitely would have bought one of this guy’s photos. They are all taken using natural light and are not touched up by a computer in any way. There were so many fantastic shots. Here are a couple samples.

Then we walked around Sedona and did a bunch of window shopping while taking in the scenery around us. The town seems to have statue type art work all around. We really enjoyed the art work. I took pictures of just a very few. Here’s one of a horse and a dog – this is located just inside a little haven of five or six shops.

Down the road a ways out on the sidewalk was this huge horse.

And by a t-shirt shop was this interesting looking dog.

Near the sandwich shop was this large eagle.

Here is one view we saw while walking around downtown.

While we love the dogs so much, it was really nice just to have a little time to spend together just the two of us. As we were window shopping we came across a dog store. And as you might imagine we did actually buy something – dog treats made by Three Dog Bakery. Personally I like truffles but for the dogs I bought “Ruffles.”

After walking all around downtown Sedona we went back to the sandwich shop area and stopped at Cold Stone Creamery for a nice cool treat. As you might imagine, there was more pretty scenery from our outdoor table.

We had a great afternoon and received a very nice excited greeting when we got home. I guess they missed us! But all was forgiven when they each got a Ruffle! Wow, those were sure was a big hit. Happy dogs!
