Enough is Enough

(Woodnville, WA) Today was planned to be a leisurely carefree day. That plan went all to heck by 9:00am.

We got a call from the vet saying that the radiologist had looked over Wazzu's x-rays. The radiologist agreed with the spondlyosis diagnosis. However, they also noticed that Wazzu has an enlarged spleen. Gads, I was still busy learning all about the spondlyosis and how to manage that.

But this is more of an immediate threat so I need to switch my focus to that. I put a call into our Valley Fever vet down in Tucson but she's out until Monday. So it will be a long weekend as we wait to learn what all this might mean.

We did however confer with a couple vets and it was determined that it is safe for Wazzu to do agility this weekend if she feels like it. So I'll just watch her carefully this weekend and let her do just what she wants and no more.

So after spending over four hours researching enlarged spleens and conferring with different vets, we finally got ready to leave for Argus. The traffic was horrible! What should be a 45 minute drive (no traffic) took us almost three hours. Good thing we weren't in a hurry.

We finally got settled into our spot at Argus, played in the field with the girls, and visited with a few friends. I'm really glad we have a trial this weekend to keep us occupied until we can talk with the specialist.

Hang in there Wazzu Puppy.
