(Oceanside, CA) Once again it was moving day. Today we moved to Guajome County Park in Oceanside.
We had to make our reservations for the San Diego area quite a bit in advance - well before we got to California. We didn't know exactly what we'd be doing while we were here so we had no idea where we needed to be. As it turns out we booked our parks exactly backward. The activities we ended up doing in the beginning were north and we stayed south. The activities we ended up doing at the end were south and we stayed north. So we spent our entire time here just driving back and forth. As it turned out we did this all wrong!
Due to that, we spent most of our time just driving. It has been very tiring. We're actually looking forward to leaving California as it has really been draining (to us and our gas tank).
This park is very nice in the fact that there are many trails to walk the dogs...but they are VERY muddy. And the mud is very clay-like so it sticks like crazy. I think I was about 4" taller by the time I got back due to the mud on my shoes.
There is a nice lake here - with literally hundreds of ducks. They must be used to being fed as they all rushed toward us even though we had four dogs with us.
It wasn't long before before the rains came again. So we had to get Boogie back inside quickly. We all hunkered down and stayed inside the rest of the day and evening.
Too funny...you'd think people from Seattle wouldn't be phased by rain!
